The view of Mt. Rainier from our ceremony grounds is one of the most distinctive features of the property. Very few outdoor wedding venues in southwest Washington can offer a true Mt. Rainier backdrop, and fewer still pair it with the eastern presence of Mt. St. Helens — giving Alder Grove a Cascade Range setting that’s genuinely one of a kind in the region. Couples with family in both Portland and Seattle can host a wedding that’s roughly equidistant from both metro areas — about an hour from PDX, two hours from SEA — so out-of-town guests aren’t stuck choosing sides.

Our ceremony lawn comfortably hosts weddings from 25 to 300 guests, with flexibility for any layout you can imagine. Whether you’re picturing a traditional aisle lined with white chairs, a romantic boho draped arch, a rustic timber pergola, or something completely your own, the open grove accommodates it beautifully. Wooded paths, the on-property waterfall feature, manicured garden beds, and the Mt. Rainier-facing ceremony space give your photographer endless options for portraits — and your guests, plenty of beautiful corners to explore between ceremony and reception.
